Rao has more than 25 years of Expertise in valuations, M&A, corporate finance and management consulting. He has advised numerous companies on valuations and leading more than 1,000 assignments for the purposes of transaction, restructuring, taxation, financial reporting, dispute resolution and financing. He is a Managing Partner of KJPP RAO, YUHAL & Rekan which is an affiliated of , a Merger & Acquisition Advisory Firm and Robert Yam, Rao & Associate (a Licensed Business and Asset Valuation Firm in Singapore).

Prior to this, Rao held leading roles in prominent firms such as Arthur Andersen, UBS, Deloitte where He has advised several global and Asian clients from various industries such as aviation, ground handling, transportation, e-commerce, life sciences, manufacturing, consumer products, energy and resources etc. Rao has also demonstrated his proficiency in Investment Banking by successfully helping 5 companies Go Public and conducted Road Shows to support the management of the company to promote the shares to be issued, which included negotiations with investors and supporting the management in the book building phase, determine the IPO price for the shares to be issued, prepared the company’s prospectus, etc.

He earned his Master of Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines in 1995 and Master of Commerce from the Bangalore University, India in 1991. He has in-depth knowledge in valuations with specific trainings such as “Equity Valuation of Strategies and Methodologies” conducted by the New York Society of Security Analysts in New York City, “Equity Valuations in Volatile Markets” conducted by the London School of Economics and “General Management Program” conducted by the National University of Singapore.


Rao is an Accredited Business Valuer member of The Indonesian Institute of Business Valuers and licensed Business Valuer of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority. He is also a Lecturer in Corporate Finance for MBA Class at ITB Business School Jakarta.
